A Novel Optical Code RAKE Receiver Using a Multiport Encoder/Decoder

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We propose an energy efficient optical code (OC) receiver, based on a RAKE configuration, using a single passive multiport encoder/decoder (E/D). We numerically demonstrate the crosstalk signals are used to enhance the energy efficiency and the label recognition performance, using only a combiner and optical delay lines (ODL), without any additional photo detector (PD). We numerically analyze the system performance and experimentally investigate the influence of the beat noise, that can be eliminated.
